Happy Birthdays

Sammie turned 9! Yes my little girl is getting bigger daily. Thank goodness she still wants to be my baby girl. She is such a happy and cheerful child. Her teacher told me she is such a joy to have in her class, she is so kind to everyone. I was so happy to hear that. It confirmed my view of her. She is so helpful with her little brother. And is always so thoughtful to Griffin. She loves to sing, collect bugs, go to school, and play outside with the neighbor kids.

We had a very fun birthday party in our backyard. It was an outdoor movie night. The kids had a blast. Everyone wore PJ's and brought their sleeping bags (yes it was cold). Unfortunately the camera battery was dead so no pictures. Aunt Cheyenne made a beautiful and YUMMY icecream cake. I was a really fun night.

Unfortunately Sammie was sick for her actual Birth Day. It was on a Sunday, and the best part of that is having the primary singing Happy Birthday to her in primary. But since she wasn't there, the primary kids got together and came to our house to sing to her on her birthday. I was so sweet, and orchestrated by one sweet 10 year old named Joe. I was so touched.

Then only a few short weeks later my awesome boy Griffin turned 13. I am so blessed to have him as my son! He is so amazing and one of the sweetest boys I have ever meet. Ever! He is so good to Cooper, and He is Cooper's hero. Actually he is so sweet to all little kids, he loves to help out with his little cousins. He still enjoys video games, but he has taken up reading. He loves to read, especially books that are in a series. He got to meet Brandon Mull a few months ago, it was awesome. Jr high has been so fun for him. He is getting awesome grades, and making lots of great friends. He loves his Deacon's quorum, and keeps busy with his duties. He loves doing "shut ins", which is when he takes the sacrament to those in the ward unable to come to church on Sunday. I have had a couple sweet ladies tell me how much they love him because he is so sweet.

For Griffin's birthday we did the outdoor movie night again. We planned on watching Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Griffin's choice. The the day of his party, a friend told him they could not come because they were not allowed to watch PG-13 movies. Griffin was really nice and picked another movie, even though the 12 other party guest were allowed to watch. When I asked him why he changed it for one person he said "Because I don't want her to have to miss it, I can watch it later". I am one proud Mommy.
